How to install the Ontario HST Calculator plugin
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
- Search for Ontario HST Calculator.
- Select the plugin and click Install Now.
- When installation finishes, click Activate.
You can also download the plugin from WordPress.org and upload it manually.
How to add the calculator widget
The setup process depends on your WordPress theme:
- Classic Widgets screen: Go to Appearance → Widgets, add the Ontario HST Calculator widget to a sidebar or other widget area, and save your settings.
- Block-based Widgets screen: Go to Appearance → Widgets, add a Legacy Widget block to a widget area, and select the Ontario HST Calculator.
- Block theme: Some block themes do not provide traditional widget areas. This legacy widget plugin may require a theme that supports a sidebar or another widget area.
You can customize the calculator’s title, text colour, border colour, and background colour in its widget settings.

Is it possible to add other provinces so that customers can choose the right province that they are purchasing from?
Thanks for the suggestion. The current WordPress plugin supports Ontario’s 13% HST only. Our web-based HST calculator supports all five HST provinces. Broader province support is being considered for a future plugin update.
